The Inquiry Committee heard evidence about 'Fair say: autonomy and voice' on 26 November 2009.
Committee members heard evidence from three expert witnesses on different aspects of autonomy and voice in food and farming. Caroline Moraes, from the Birmingham Business School, gave evidence on consumer autonomy in food choices; Catherine Dolan, from the Said Business School, University of Oxford, gave evidence on the extent to which Fairtrade changes producer-consumer relationships; and Tim Jackson, from the Centre for Environmental Strategy, University of Surrey, gave evidence on structural challenges, particularly issues of accountability around sustainable consumption and production.
A report of the hearing, and the dossier of relevant research, can be accessed by clicking on the links below; as can the presentations provided by Caroline Moraes and Catherine Dolan. Recordings of the hearing sessions will be posted in the near future.
