Reflecting on Ofcom's recent consultation, Food Ethics Council Executive Director, Tom MacMillan, laments that the option to ban all adverts for fatty, salty or sugary foods before the 9pm watershed was excluded.

He proposes that broadcasters, like schools, food companies and health services, should be required to take responsibility for their influences on children's diets.
