How should our food system meet the challenge of water scarcity? By 2025, two-thirds of the world will live in water-stressed countries. Since farming is the world's biggest water use, with crop production alone accounting for 86 percent, the food sector will feel this harshly. It also has to be part of the solution.
Our work on water began in 2007. It recognises the pivotal role that water plays in our food system, and the far-reaching effects of water scarcity. We will explore ways of coping with water scarcity that promote the wellbeing of people, animals and the environment, fairly and with respect for their autonomy.
