GM food: the wrong debate rolls on

At this year's BBC Food and Farming Awards, the Derek Cooper Award for the best food campaigner or educator went to Geoff Tansey, a member and trustee of the Food Ethics Council.

Will the Royal Society be balanced?

The Royal Society – the UK national academy of sciences – has launched a study on biological approaches to enhance food-crop production. It says it wants to provide a balanced assessment that will help to address concerns over food security.

This major new report from the Food Ethics Council was launched on 9th October. It examines the impact of food distribution networks on our environment, economy, culture and communities, and their contribution to climate change.

Fair food distribution in a warmer world

The Food Ethics Council’s World Food Day debate, at the Royal Horticultural Halls, drew the crowds with big hitters Rosie Boycott chairing and Carolyn Steel (architect and author), Callton Young (Food and Drink Federation) and Julian Oram (World Development Movement) on the panel.
