The Food Ethics Council works with government, civil society and academic researchers to find a way through difficult issues in food policy.

  • Our magazines contain cutting edge thought and analysis on key policy themes including power in the retail and food service sectors, resource controversies (e.g. water and waste), and food products such as meat, fish and sugar.
  • Our hot topics summarise key issues and signpost you to further reading
  • Our briefings give insight into key debates on food and farming
  • Our publications include policy reports and papers on such topics as reform of the CAP, 'food miles', research governance and genetic modification
  • The internationally acclaimed ethical matrix is a versatile tool for analysing ethical issues. It helps people make ethical decisions, particularly about new technologies, and acts as an aid to rational thought and democratic deliberation
  • Our research directory lists consultants who can with work on ethical issues.
