Many dairy farmers have highlighted the need for more to be done in tackling methane emissions, improving soil health and increasing on-farm biodiversity. However, financial pressures, lack of clarity over future support from Governmnent and lack of conventional funding for agroecological dairy systems have been highlighted as barriers to implementing more climate friendly practices.
In this innovation workshop we will bring dairy farmers together to explore how we can ensure farmers are paid fairly, how to shift away from volume-based strategies towards value-adding strategies and how farmers could be supported to create financially sustainable businesses that support people, animals and planet
