How can food and farming businesses meaningfully involve others – including customers – on their sustainability journeys?
Online Business Forum meeting
Food and farming businesses are increasingly embedding sustainability into strategies and customer offerings. This online Business Forum meeting will explore how businesses can meaningfully involve people – including customers – on their sustainability journeys.
Food companies are increasingly bringing sustainability expertise into the Boardroom, ensuring sustainability is not a tick box on the risk register. However, very few have successfully extended their invitation to their customers – and the general public – to join them in tackling our collective sustainability issues. When treating customers as engaged food citizens, rather than simply as the ‘end consumer’, we can shift our relationship, build trust, and diversify positive interventions to tackle big sustainability issues.
How can food companies start treating customers as food citizens? How can food and farming businesses give the public a role in decisions about sustainability? How do we move beyond simply telling customer what we are doing to benefit society and the environment – and involve them instead? We will explore these questions and more.
