The Food Ethics Council is one of 100 signatories on an open joint letter led by the RSA Food, Farming and Countryside Commission to Secretaries of State in Defra, International Trade, Health, Business and International Development, as well as the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster. We argue that the UK must not use future trade deals to offshore its nature and climate commitments. We also urge Government departments to work together to carefully weigh up the wide-ranging implications of any trade decisions they take.
