In a webinar held on Thursday 9th July 2026, the Food Ethics Council and Nourish Scotland joined forces to spotlight and untangle mixed messages around the right to food, and highlight the universality principle that is often lacking in narratives and campaigns.
Together, Beth Bell (Deputy Director, Food Ethics Council) and Anna Chworow (Deputy Director, Nourish Scotland) explored what is possible when we embed the right to food in how we progress food system transformation. What can we do collectively that makes the case for legislative intervention inarguable, and what are the stepping stones that bring a true right to food closer?
