
DR SINEAD FUREY
Dr Sinéad Furey is a Senior Lecturer on the Food Business and Innovation undergraduate degree programme in Ulster University Business School.
Sinéad is an expert in food poverty and food policy, who has worked on consumer, food and nutrition policy in the Consumer Council for Northern Ireland, as a Nutritional Associate inspecting whole school approaches to food in Northern Ireland in the Education and Training Inspectorate, and dietary health and nutritional surveillance in the Food Standards Agency in Northern Ireland.
Sinéad’s research interests include food insecurity, social supermarkets, co-design for local councils’ food insecurity initiatives, retail food promotions and sustainability. She has co-authored food policy books (UK food policy history: Economic, social and political influences – 1st edition and Food Policy in the United Kingdom An Introduction) and papers relating to her research – see Publications for links.
