What it is: An opportunity in an online workshop to explore risks and opportunities and ethical concerns for GPT AI models; and to start to write a policy on whether you should use GPT AI and if so, how and under what conditions. We at Food Ethics Council are early on our journey, so are looking to learn ourselves as we develop our own policy, and are encouraging others to learn together and develop responsible policies too
Questions we might (begin to) explore: What does a policy on responsible use of AI look like? What are the key ethical concerns? Should we be using GPT AI to write copy? Should we be using AI notetakers? Are AI-generated images OK? How do we deal with AI for recruitment? How can we reduce bias? How can we manage risk? What should our red lines be on AI use? In what contexts can AI legitimately save us time? Where (if at all) can AI use for organisations in our sector deliver game-changing efficiency – at what cost?
What it’s not: All the answers on what to do OR a lecture on the technicalities of AI OR exploring the potential use of AI to transform food systems.
Who is it for: This is primarily aimed at those in civil society organisations in the UK working in, or involved with, the food system, albeit it may be of interest to others. Places are limited to two people per organisation.
Outline agenda:
What you will leave with: Better understanding of implications of AI for your organisation, key areas a policy might/ should cover, opportunity to feed into the Food Ethics Council’s organisational policy (and/ or to draw on it to create your own) and lingering questions to explore.
