A new report for Defra, by the University of Hertfordshire, the Food Ethics Council and the Policy Studies Institute, sets out how government, businesses and green groups can improve environmental labelling on food products.
While many people say they aspire to buy local food, very few achieve that goal. The IGD’s regular survey of shoppers finds that while 30% say they specifically buy locally produced food (doubling since 2006), the market share of locally grown food is nearer to one or two percent.

We were asked by NHS Health Scotland to review research on ‘food culture’ and help them explore the implications for policy.
