Food Scientist and food ethicist. Trustee of the Food Ethics Council. Formerly Professor of Food Industry, Harper Adams University. 

Ralph Early is a food scientist and food ethicist. Formerly Professor of Food Industry in Harper Adams University, head of the department of Food Science and Agri-food Supply Chain Management and director of the West Midlands Regional Food Academy. He retired in December 2018 after 25 years in the university sector, before which he spent 20 years in the food industry, gaining experience in farming, food manufacture, product and process development, and quality and food safety management. A Trustee and Council Member of the Food Ethics Council, he is also a Trustee of Praise Bee, a charity existing to protect and conserve solitary bees which are essential to the success and sustainability of many of the world’s biological food chains and not least the food systems upon which people depend.
